Postpartum Program Schedule

9am

Mother. Newborn Observation *

  • Mother and newborn observation

  • Check kitchen

  • Help with breastfeeding newborn and change diaper, if necessary

  • Clean kitchen surfaces, wash dishes, and ventilate home

10am

  • Organizing breastfeeding supplies

  • Women’s wormwood warming (hands and feet)

  • Disinfect baby bottles and nursing supplies

11am

  • Breast massage (minimum 2 days, maximum 1 week)

  • Sitz bath 

    • Promotes blood circulation in the uterus

    • Aids in quick recovery of the perineum from natural delivery

  • Breast massage to prevent mastitis and promote more breast milk production

12am

* Lunch and kitchen arrangement
Meal preparation dishes based on daily menu

1pm

Break
Break from 1 to 2

2pm

  • Afternoon snack

  • Newborn bath, massage and breastfeeding

3pm

  • Laundry for newborns (every 1 to 2 days)

  • Adult laundry (twice a week)

    • Washing machine required

  • Perform basic cleanings of the house (baby room, toilet cleaning for Sitz Bath, etc.)

4pm

  • Body massage

  • 1st Day: Abdomen and pelvis

  • 2nd Day: Abdomen, pelvis, and legs

  • For cesarean section clients: massage legs and face mask

  • 3rd Day: Face mask, abdomen and pelvis

  • 4th Day: Abdomen, pelvic and leg

  • 5th Day: Abdomen and pelvic

  • *For cesarean section clients: daily leg massage*

  • Live-in package: Saturdays

  • Natural delivery: abdominal and pelvic massage

  • Surgical delivery: leg massage

  • Postpartum exercise routine

5pm

  • Dinner

    • Prepare meals for both parents

    • Prepare for breastfeeding

    • Organize house

6pm

  • Dinner

    • Prepare meals for both parents

    • Prepare for breastfeeding

    • Organize house

It may take 2 or 3 days to settle into the schedule

 

  • Work schedule may change after consulting with birth parent

  • Baby feeding time can be adjusted according to the personal needs of the mother (basic feeding interval is every 2 to 3 hours for breast milk and every 3 to 4 hours for formula)
